
Joel Epstein, an associate professor of psychiatry in the School of Medicine here at Mizzou has been rewarded a $1 million grant from the National Institute on Drug Abuse to create a video game about the dangers of drug abuse.
The game will be developed in four years. The first two will be devoted to developing the game and testing it among St. Louis 4th and 5th graders. Two versions will be made, one centered among young males and the other one centered around young females.
This is a pretty cool idea to me. Seems like a good way to educate kids about drugs and their affects. I know I’d play the game. Hopefully it turns out well. Either way it gets Mizzou’s name out to an even broader range of prospective students. Nothing wrong with that. You can read the whole story here at the Post Dispatch.
